International experience of public debt restructuring. Risks and best practices
After the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine reached an agreement with external creditors to temporarily postpone debt payments until 2024. Subsequently, the agreement with official bilateral creditors was extended until 2027, but the restructuring of private debt is due in 2024. In this context, it is advisable to study international restructuring experience to understand effective approaches to restructuring and use it to improve Ukraine’s strategies in this area.
