The RRR4U consortium presented the Culinary Book of Ukrainian Recovery

The RRR4U consortium (DiXi Group, Institute of Analysis and Advocacy, Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting, Center for Economic Strategy) presented the Culinary Book of Ukrainian Recovery – a collection of “recipes” for Ukraine’s recovery, composed of a set of universal ingredients that will be useful both for donors in preparing aid projects and for Ukrainian developers and implementers on the ground.

The restored or newly built objects should be:

  • Inclusive – this is particularly important, especially due to the full-scale war, when the number of people with disabilities is increasing.
  • Energy-efficient – this will increase Ukraine’s energy independence.
  • Environmentally friendly – this will contribute to improving the country’s environment and, consequently, promote a longer life expectancy.

To achieve this, it is crucial to adopt clear state building standards and other standards for reconstruction and modernization, both for residential buildings and infrastructure (including schools and medical facilities).

Our colleagues discussed other aspects, ingredients, and conditions for successful reconstruction, including:

  • The ability and role of communities in reconstruction
  • People’s needs
  • Private capital and investment in reconstruction
  • Trust in reconstruction and modernization
